Kozhikode: The online mentorship programme offered by students of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-K), for IIM aspirants who have received interview call started on Sunday.

The students-driven programme pioneered by the IIM-K aims at helping the aspirants in preparing for the next round of selection process, including group discussion and personal interview.

The programme is primarily an online interface between existing students and prospective students.

The services will also be available offline once the registration and the interpersonal contacts are made.

The online interface can be accessed at http:// mentor.iimklive.com/.

Charanyan Iyengar, member of the IIM-K media cell, told The Hindu that the programme, which started last year, had around 1,000 candidates. “We are expecting more candidates this time,” said Mr. Iyengar. Considering the previous year's success, the organisers said they had ensured more number of mentors for the online services this time. According to them, the mentorship is designed to be informal to enable interaction between candidates and mentors at an individual level. Candidates can reach their mentors round-the-clock on their personal numbers or via live messaging after the registration.

The mentorship will continue even after the students receive offers of admission. Candidates are required to register, with their CAT TR numbers and e-mail address provided at the time of registration, on the IIM-K live web site for the programme.
