Kozhikode: Kerala Congress (Jacob) chairman Johnny Nellore has called on the CPI(M) to initiate legal and administrative action if the party is certain that the land in the possession of Janata Dal (Secular) leaders M.V. Sreyams Kumar and George Pothen in Wayanad are encroachments.

Mr. Nellore said the party’s gimmick to use its Adivasi and farm organisation members to encroach that land and to settle political scores was upsetting the rule of law. Mr. Nellore was also critical of the handling of the Munnar issue by the CPI (M). He said the Munnar mission was an attempt to hide the fact that the CPI (M) was the biggest encroacher in Idukki. Mr. Nellore said thousands of acres at Parvathimala, Chinnakanal and Pulippara were in the possession of CPI (M) leaders. A UDF fact finding mission would visit the area on March 4.
