Thiruvananthapuram: The city police have announced an array of traffic restrictions in the city from Saturday in connection with the Attukal Pongala festival.

Only one-way traffic will be allowed on the Manacaud-Attukal road. Vehicles proceeding to the temple should take the Manacaud Market Junction-Post Office Junction-Granthasala Junction road.

The police will divert vehicles returning from the temple to Medamukku or Iranimuttom through the Gowri Vandanam Hotel-Chiramukku.

Vehicles moving towards the temple from Iranimuttom and Konchiravila should take the Medamukku-Attukal Driving School junction-Valiyapalli-Manacaud Junction-Manacaud post office road.

Medium-sized KSRTC buses will be allowed to conduct services from the temple’s parking ground.

On festival days, KSRTC buses bound for Vizhinjam and Thiruvallam, will be routed through the Vettimuricha Kottai.

No parking will be allowed on the Killipalam-Bund-Iranimuttom-Chiramukku road. This road will be kept free exclusively for emergency services and police vehicles.

-Kamaleshawaram

-Maharani Mukku road will be kept free for emergency services and police vehicles. Parking will not be allowed on this stretch. No parking of vehicles will be allowed on the temple’s parking ground on Pongala day. Parking will not be allowed at Manacaud junction till the festival is over. Private stage carriage services and buses bringing devotees to the temple will have to drop their passengers at MSK Nagar.
