A huge cache of books and compact discs allegedly containing incriminating and anti-national content were seized from Nanma Books, a publishing firm, on Court Road here on Tuesday. The materials were seized during raids by a police team led by P. Vijayan, Commissioner of Police, Kozhikode city, and Debesh Kumar Behra, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (South). The police suspect those of the proscribed Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) behind the books. Investigators identified several persons, including a religious leader in Malappuram district, as running such publishing firms, Mr. Behra said. — Staff Reporter
