KOCHI: As the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip entered the third week and the death toll of Palestinians mounted to 820, several Muslim organisations in Kerala have called for snapping of India’s diplomatic ties with Israel. The Indian National League (INL) wanted the Central government to sever the relationship with Israel immediately.

Sulaiman Khalid, INL national general secretary, said that Gandhiji had not recognised Israel as it had driven out the Palestinians from their motherland.

He said the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had facilitated the launch of an Israeli spy satellite that was now being used to spot Palestinian schools, universities and other institutions for precision-bombing. Alleging that the influence and activities of Israel’s secret service Mossad and the American CIA were increasing in India, Mr. Khalid called for an investigation to find whether there was a link between their presence and terrorist attacks in India. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) said the Israeli ‘massacre’ of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip was a shame on humanity. It called upon all humanists to condemn and resist the American-Israeli violation of the Palestinians’ right to life.
