Around 1,500 students from 120 colleges will participate in the cultural festival.

KOZHIKODE: Ragam 09, the three-day long annual cultural festival of the National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NIT-C), was inaugurated on the campus here on Wednesday by its director G.R.C. Reddy.

Saleem Sayed Bava, international marketing coordinator of University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) and Suresh G., Bank of Baroda senior manager (Chennai) spoke.

The inaugural function was followed by a music show.


The contests will start from Thursday. More than 1,500 students from over 120 colleges across the country will participate in the 40-odd events to be held over the next three days.

Anthakshari (Malayalam), dumb charades, vegetable carving, debate (Hindi), extempore (Malayalam), Kathaprasangam, mock press (prelims), painting, collage and guitar solo will be some of the contests to be held on Thursday. A concert by Benny Dayal who had rendered many recent hits in Hindi films will be the star of the music show on Thursday evening.
