A manual labourer was found dead in front of a bar-attached hotel near Eenchakkal on Monday.
The police identified the deceased as Anil Kumar, 55, of Kuriyathi.
He worked as a handyman at a nearby wayside eatery.
The police said Anil Kumar was a regular drinker. The police suspect him to have died of natural causes.
The body was kept at the Government Medical College Hospital mortuary for the post-mortem examination.
The police have registered a case of unnatural death.
