Expectations are high especially after the success of the first part of Harihar Nagar.

KOCHI: Mollywood is waiting for the beginning of the school summer vacation to release the sequels of two runaway hits, Harihar Nagar and Irupatham Nootandu.

For those who want to relax and enjoy an evening, director Lal is coming up with Harihar Nagar 2. The powerhouse combination of Mukesh, Ashokan, Jagadeesh, and Siddique is back in the sequel, shot extensively in Kochi.

Expectations are high especially after the success of the first part that asserted the position of the Siddique-Lal (who directed the first part) duo in the industry. Film buffs continue to break into uproarious laughter whenever they see visuals from the movie on television these days.

Some of the favourites include the scenes involving the four lead actors and Philomina, who played the role of the grandmother of the heroine. Die-hard fans of the movie also easily recall the hit dialogue, ‘Thomaskutty vittoda’ from the movie.

Harihar Nagar 2 has another surprise. Popular cinematographer Venu is back after a long hiatus. Alex Paul handles the music.

If Harihar Nagar 2 is going to be a laugh riot, Sagar alias Jackie promises some racy sequences and technical finesse from its director Amal Neerad. His Big B had earned praise for its visuals even though the film could not weave magic at the box office. Inspired by director K. Madhu’s popular hit, Irupatham Nootandu, Sagar alias Jackie is being produced under the banner of Ashirwad Cinemas.

The sequel is not directed by Mr. Madhu but there is no change in its scriptwriter. S. N. Swami makes an attempt to recreate the racy narrative in the sequel.

The background music of Irupatham Nootandu was also a hit among moviegoers. It has also been retained in the new movie.
