It seems that art is becoming popular these days. Following painting exhibitions that occupied the whole of Durbar Hall Art Centre, the Rotary Club of Cochin Downtown has also put up a show.

The show, `Chithrotsavam - 2006,' includes more than 150 works from 34 artists, the organisers say. The exhibition is aimed at raising resources for charity.

The funds generated will be utilised for the community service projects being conducted by the Rotary Club in and around Kadamakkudi village, including setting up of primary health centres and rainwater harvesting and sanitation units.

The participating artists are Ajayakumar, Amitha Sampaje, Aruna, Asanthan, Babumon, Binuraj D., B.D. Dethan, Hochimin T.H., C.S. Jayaram, Jayawanth, Jennifer Jyothi Alwa, John V.J., T. Kaladharan, C.N. Karunakaran, Mani T.A., Mohammed Shah, Nandan P.V., Nijina Neelambaran, Ponmani Thomas, Purushotham Adve, K.K. Rajappan, Rupa B.R., Saju Ayyampilly, Salim A.K., Sarath, Sathyan V.A., Sathyapal, Seema Suresh, Shibu Chand, Sunil Vallarpadam, Sunitha Varma, Suresh Koothuparambu, Vidhya and Viswaswar Barkalia. The show will continue till Friday.
