Glowing tributes paid to Pattanakkad Purushothaman

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A music album composed by Pattanakkad Purushothaman was released at a programme organised recently by Sruthi, a city-based society for promotion of music, to offer tribute to the noted singer.

Music director M.K. Arjunan inaugurated the programme held at the Museum auditorium. Arjunan shared an intimate friendship with Purushothaman who had rendered many of his drama songs.

Sreekumaran Thampi, Perumbavoor Ravindranath, M.G. Radhakrishnan and Bharath Gopi also offered felicitations.

The commemorative album contains songs by Jayachandran, Sujatha, M.G. Sreekumar, G. Venugopal, Unni Menon, Manjari, Biju Narayanan, Madhu Balakrishnan, Sheeba and Shiny. Sreekumaran Thampi released the album by handing over a copy to Perumbavoor Ravindranath. Noted playback singers Kallara Gopan, Bhavana Radhakrishnan, Sheeba, Jayasankar, Ravisankar and members of the society have rendered the songs composed and sung by Purushothaman. Society president N.Shyam Mohan spoke about the contributions of Purushothaman. Bharanikavu Sivakumar, Prakash Mavelikkara and Muttara Sasi offered felicitations. Society secretary Usha Anil proposed a vote of thanks.
