One killed in accidentKOCHI: One person was killed and another injured when a lorry rammed into the motorcycle in which they were travelling at Pathadipalam on Saturday afternoon. Sukumaran Nair (64) of Lakshmi Kripa, Vennala, died at the Medical Trust Hospital. The condition of C.P. Suresh (36), pillion rider, is said to be stable. He is recovering at the hospital. Eye care for childrenKOCHI: The Little Flower Hospital and Research Centre, Angamaly, will launch a novel programme to care the eyesight of children. This is in association with ORBIS International, an international NGO devoted to saving sight. As part of the project, the paediatric ophtalmology block of the hospital will be inaugurated on Tuesday, Sebastian Vadakumpadam, director of the hospital said, in a press release.
