National Safety Day observedKOCHI: National Safety Day was observed at all the production divisions of FACT on Saturday. Safety day functions were conducted at the company's Udyogamandal Division, Petrochemical Division and Cochin Division. Senior joint director of Factories and Boilers, Ernakulam, K.J. National seminarKOCHI: A two-day national seminar on `health, safety and environment' was conducted at Cusat on Friday and Saturday in connection with National Safety Day. More security for banks soughtKOCHI: The Canara Bank Staff Union has demanded that adequate security be given to the banks which function during day and night. The demand comes in the wake of the attack on the manager of the Punjab National Bank, Kaloor Branch, a week back. Many banks, including Canara Bank, are set to begin day-and-night banking from March 7, said K.V. George, assistant secretary of the union. Staff Reporter

Awareness programmeKOCHI: The conclusion of this year's road safety awareness programme will be held on March 7 afternoon at the Rajagiri College of Social Sciences.
