Smart City project

The Election Commission has informed a Division Bench of the Kerala High Court that allowing the State Government to execute the agreement for establishing Smart City Project after the announcement of elections amounted to announcement of financial grant and promises.

The statement was filed in response to a writ petition seeking a directive to the Election Commission to allow the State Government to execute the agreement for setting up the Smart City Project. The Election Commission said that by directing the State Government to defer the execution of the agreement till elections were over, the commission was not interfering with the day-to-day activities of the State Government.
