KOCHI: A free medical camp was held here on Sunday to examine the digestive diseases in children as part of the World Digestive Diseases Day. About 800 people participated in the camp.

A.P. M. Mohammed Hanish, District Collector, inaugurated the camp. Mathew Philip, Director of the P.V.S. Institute of Digestive Diseases spoke. A new department for Paediatric Gastroenterology was opened on the occasion. Tony Mampilly, Head of the paediatric department, P.V.S. Hospital, presided over the function. Prathap Kini, President, Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Kochi, participated.
