It was a time for nostalgia about the Kerala University Library and the people who made the institution what it is today at a function recently organised by the Kerala Library Association on the occasion of the first death anniversary of K.A. Isaac, the first university librarian. C.A. Augustin, formerly of the Department of Library and Information Science, narrated how the library, housed in an old building on the Government Sanskrit College campus, was shifted to the present building. Isaac, Mr. Augutin said, was very much part of the library's journey across the road.

He also pointed out that the late librarian could often be seen sitting with many a book on his lap meticulously writing down the classification number on each of them.
