KOLLAM: Poet Ezhacheri Ramachandran has been selected for the maiden M.S. Rudran Award for Poetry.

Announcing the award here on Friday, M.S. Rudran Foundation president V.V. Sasindran and secretary M.S. Sathyan said Ezhacheri' collection of poems, `Kedara Gowri,' was selected for the award by a committee comprising Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan, Erumeli Parameswaran Pillai and S. Sulaha. The award, consisting of Rs.5,555 and a citation, would be presented at a function at the Alapad Paschimeswaram Temple grounds on December 24.

Civil Supplies Minister C. Divakaran would inaugurate the function. On the occasion, Water Resources Minister N.K. Premachandran would formally inaugurate the Foundation.
