‘Stir will jeopardise students' future'
The Receiver appointed by the High Court of Kerala to sort out the issues at the engineering college and polytechnic college under the Association for Welfare of the Handicapped at Kuttikattoor here has served a notice to the striking teachers of both of the educational institutions asking them to report for duty by Wednesday.
Warning
The AWH administrative officer said in a press release here on Tuesday that the Receiver had termed the strike “illegal.” He had asked the Principals of both the colleges to take stern action against those who did not join duty.
Resorting to strike when the examinations were fast approaching would result in jeopardising the future of hundreds of students. The teachers should withdraw their strike immediately, it said.
Salary revision
The release said that steps would be taken, as per rules, to revise the salary of teachers and other staff.
Several rounds of discussions had already been held with the representatives of teachers and parents in this regard.
A comprehensive report was submitted to the High Court on November 26.
Now the matter was pending before the High Court.
