KOCHI: The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education has distributed nearly 54,000 application forms for students applying for the Plus One programme in Ernakulam district. Regional Deputy Director S.S. Anilkumar said that 10,000 forms had reached the district in the first phase. About 45,000 forms sent from the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education at Thiruvananthapuram reached here on Tuesday. He said that parents and students need not worry as there is no shortage of forms in the district. He said that 54,000 application forms for Plus One programme are enough for Ernakulam. Only 36,000 students are eligible for admission from the district.
The cost of the application form is Rs.10. Forms are available at government or aided higher secondary schools in the district. Students seeking admission in various schools in Ernakulam can collect the form from any school in the district. The candidate can also submit the application forms at any school in the district. But care should be taken not to submit more than one form for admission to a merit seat available in schools coming under a district. A candidate residing in Ernakulam who want to apply for a seat available in a school in Kottayam district should collect the application form from a higher secondary school in Kottayam.
The candidate will get the acknowledgement card certified by the Principal of the school once he/she submits the application form. Students should keep this card till the time of admission, as the number given in the card is required for checking the status of application form.
Help desks set up at various schools in the district will help students fill their forms without making any mistakes.
Mr. Anilkumar said that students can check the status of the application forms at the higher secondary directorate’s admission portal, www.hscap.kerala.gov.in. Candidates can enter the site by keying in their application number. They should regularly check the website to ensure that the application form is free of any errors. Students should submit a letter to the Principal of the school, where the application form is submitted, if he or she wants to make any corrections in the application form.
A trial allotment will be held to avoid mistakes before the first official allotment. Students can make changes like the school selected for study and the subject combination after the trial allotment.
No corrections will be made after the prescribed time of the official allotment. The trial allotment will be held on June 1, and the first allotment will be on June 10.
