Kozhikode: Janata Dal (Secular) State president M.P. Veerendrakumar said here on Tuesday that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) never allowed other LDF constituents to air independent views on the SNC Lavalin case, in which CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan is an accused.
Addressing a news conference here in connection with the party secretariat meeting, Mr. Veerendrakumar said that the CPI(M) usually took a unilateral decision on the issue and coerced other partners to agree to that decision.
The front had not deliberated on the corruption charges levelled against Mr. Vijayan, he said.
He said that the CPI(M) had vociferously demanded investigation by the CBI on cases of corruption and the party had also launched agitations. However, it was an irony now that even the CPI(M) Polit Bureau was not prepared for an investigation when the party State secretary was in the dock.
