KOCHI: The CPI (M) should not consider its State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan as a person above the law, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has said.

Speaking at a public reception organised by the Ernakulam DCC to the MPs from the district here on Monday, Mr. Chennithala said by giving permission for prosecuting Mr. Vijayan in the SNC Lavalin case, the Kerala Governor was respecting the sentiments of the people, he said.

The CPI (M) was part of the earlier delegations that approached the constitutional bodies like the President and the Governor seeking the prosecution of former Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Sukhram.
