KOCHI: The Kochi City Action Force, an organisation that rushes aid to accident victims, will soon set up Action 100, an emergency cell which will be manned by volunteers.

The cell’s volunteers will take the initiative in rushing help to people affected by man-made or natural calamities, said G. Vijayan, the organisation’s general secretary, while addressing media persons at the Ernakulam Press Club on Saturday.

“We will soon begin training volunteers, in association with the district’s disaster management cell. They will be in the 18-50 age group.”

The force has so far trained 8,000 people in giving primary trauma care.
