THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Education Department, in association with the Information and Public Relations Department and the P.N. Panicker Foundation, will be observing June 19 as Reading Day on the occasion on P.N. Panicker commemoration.
A statement released by the P.N. Panicker Vigyan Kendra here on Saturday said the week from June 19 to 25 would be observed as Reading Week.
The statement said that a series of programmes focussing on encouraging reading habit among school students had been planned in schools in the State as part of the Reading Week celebrations. All schools in the State will convene a special assembly at 9.30 a.m. on June 19 in which students will share their reading experiences. The students will also felicitate their teachers at the function.
