KOCHI: Contract workers in the Indian Oil Corporation LPG bottling plants across Kerala, who went on a strike on Saturday demanding the withdrawal of the suspension of one of their colleagues, decided to call off the action from Sunday in view of conciliatory talks scheduled for Monday.

The decision to withdraw the strike was taken by the trade unions after District Collector M. Beena held a round of talks with representatives of the IOC management and trade unions in the presence of the Regional Labour Commissioner (Central) K. P. Shashidhar.

The Collector is learnt to have appealed to the striking workers to take a second look at their action in view of the hardship that would be caused to the public.
