Initiative part of Tathva '11

The National Institute of Technology, Calicut, (NIT-C) is launching Young Engineer, a science fair and exhibition, for schoolchildren in the State.

The initiative, which is part of a the institute's technical fest, Tathva '11, is aimed at encouraging innovative thinking and practical application among students.

Any student studying in classes 8 to 12 can participate in the event.

Students have to submit online applications containing images and a brief description of their exhibit to youngengineer@tathva.org, which can relate to any branch of science.

A panel of judges will screen the entries and select the best 30 exhibits for the final round, which will be conducted during Tathva which will be held from October 20 to 23.

Projects will be judged on the basis of utility and feasibility. Finalists stand a chance to win cash prizes worth Rs.20,000.
