Kochi: The Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) has informed the Kerala High Court that steps are being taken on a war footing to comply with the terms of the contract for supplying containers to the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB).

In a statement filed before the Division Bench following a directive, the General Manager (Marketing Division) of SIDCO said it had undertaken the contract for supply of 30 lakh eco-friendly cans with “tin bottom lids and 30 lakh loose flap open lids of Taiwan make.” The cans supplied in the morning of December 12 did not have any defects. However, it was reported by the TDB that those supplied in the evening had some problem with the bottom seams. So SIDCO informed the suppliers of the defects. The suppliers had to stop the production of containers.
