The ban on plastic carry bags has slowly but surely begun to show results.

With the authorities cracking down on those violating the ban, most shop keepers now ask the customer if they have brought any bag with them. The public too is slowly getting used to the idea of carrying a cloth bag or re-usable plastic bags with them always in their two-wheelers or cars so that they can shop on the way back from work or while they are out.

Generally, paper bags do not seem to be very popular with people as these are not exactly useful to carry wet items such as fish or even heavy loads. But jute and cloth bags are infinitely appealing to many.
