Kochi: A feast of new movies awaits film buffs in November. Mamootty and Mohanlal are getting ready with their offering. Ranjith’s Rock n’ Roll will have Mohanlal playing the role of a drummer. He has the company of actors Lal, Mukesh, Rahman, and Harishree Ashokan. Mohanlal gets a different look in the movie shot extensively in Chennai. Ranjith has handled the script.

The movie has generated interest especially with its star cast and for the combination of Ranjith and Mohanlal. Both of them were last seen together in Chandrolsavam, which had turned disastrous at the box office. Marketing of the movie has got off on a positive note. The producers have already started running regular promos in theatres across the State.

Mamootty’s Rowdhram is also not lagging behind. The movie has the actor playing yet another police officer. Directed by Ranji Panikkar, the movie has been shot in Kochi and nearby locations.

The fate of Rowdhram at the box office is crucial especially after the actor’s recent releases including Mission 90 Days and Nasrani failed to evoke the expected enthusiasm.

The third big release this November is director Blessy’s Calcutta News. Blessy takes a different turn in script and story in his latest movie. Dileep plays a television producer in the film. Shot in Kolkata, the star cast includes Meera Jasmine and Indrajith.

The regional releases will face a tough competition from Tamil film industry, thanks to the exciting line of releases being planned for Deepavali. Vijay’s much-expected Azhagiya Thamizhmakan and Surya’s Vel will put up a brave fight at the box office.

Vijay movies have always set the cash registers ringing for both distributors and theatre owners. His recent flick Pokkiri was a runaway success at al release stations.
