KOZHIKODE: An all-party action committee formed to protest against the arrest and detention in jail of K.P. Satyakrishnan of Nadakkave here has demanded action against the police officer, found guilty by the inquiry commission of slapping a false case and arresting him.

At a press meet on Wednesday, committee members said the arrest and detention in jail for two days of Satyakrishnan, who was known for his honesty and dedication while he was an accountant in a private firm here, was a blatant violation of human rights. Satyakrishnan had allegedly been arrested by K. Mustafa, assistant sub-inspector of police, and the inquiry report by V. Chandran, Assistant Commissioner, said that the former was not responsible for misappropriation or any other offence to warrant arrest.

The members said the facts of the case were revealed after five inquiry commissions were appointed over a two-year period.
