Thiruvananthapuram: The Energy Management Centre has invited applications for the energy conservation awards of the State government. The awards are given in seven categories. The categories are large, medium, small scale enterprises, non-profit organisations, research and innovation, individuals and public buildings. It carries a cash price of Rs.10,000 each.
The qualifying period for the award is the financial year from April 1, 2006, to March 31, 2007. However, as conservation efforts require longer period for implementation in some case, the work in this direction for the immediate past three financial years will also be reviewed.
In the case of enterprises, the basis will be the percentage energy savings by deliberate efforts. For non-profit organisations, formulation of promotional schemes, implementation of energy conservation activities, people’s participation, research activities etc. will be the criteria. In the case of individuals, the assessment will be based on outstanding nature of activities.
The awards will be presented at a public function on December 14, National Energy Conservation Day. Application forms can be obtained in person or by post from the Energy Management Centre, Thycaud P.O., Thiruvananthapuram.It can also be downloaded from the EMC website http://keralaenergy.gov.in/. The filled in application should reach the Director, Energy Management Centre, Thycaud P.O., Thiruvananthapuram 695 014 on or before October 31.
