PATHANAMTHITTA: Raju Narayanaswamy, 1991 batch IAS topper, assumed charge as the District Collector of Pathanamthitta on Friday. He succeeds Ashok Kumar Singh who has been shifted as Idukki Collector.

Mr. Narayanaswamy, who led the ‘Mission Munnar’ to evict the land-grabbers in the hilly tracts of Idukki in his capacity as the Idukki Collector, had also served as District Collector of Thrissur, Kasaragod and Kottayam, earlier.

An engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, Mr. Narayanaswamy is a prolific writer with 20 books to his credit. He had also won the Kerala Sahithya Akademi award in the travelogue segment in 2004.

Outgoing Collector Ashok Kumar Singh, Additional District Magistrate K. Sethumadhavan Nair and the Adoor Revenue Divisional Officer N. Mahesan were also present.
