About 50 sovereigns of jewellery recovered from them

Krishnagiri: The Krishnagiri District police arrested two persons on charges of looting from the house of a doctor at PTV colony here on Friday. Police said that Selvam (26) a criminal and his accomplice Srinivasan of Krishnagiri had operated in connivance with Chitra who was working as a nursing assistant with doctor Rajasekharan.

The duo had reportedly gained entry into the house of Rajasekharan posing as patients recently.

The duo reportedly gagged Subbulakshmi wife of Rajasekharan and decamped with 75 sovereigns of jewellery.

Following directions from the Salem Range DIG Alexander Mohan and supervision of Krishnagiri SP P.C. Thenmozhi a team led by Krishnagiri town Inspector Radhakrishnan were conducting checks at Londonpet junction when they found two persons moving under suspicious circumstances.

It was found during the interrogation that Selvam and Chithra were involved in the robbery in PTV colony. About 50 sovereigns of jewellery worth Rs.5 lakh were recovered from them.
