THRISSUR: Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP) general secretary Vellappally Natesan has alleged that writer Sukumar Azhikode rejected the Padma Shree because he did not get the honour he desired.

Addressing a press conference at Guruvayur on Sunday, Mr. Natesan said that greatness could not be achieved by merely writing books.

The SNDP Yogam general secretary described Devaswom Minister G. Sudhakaran as an "upright politician."

"Mr. Sudhakaran's tragic flaw is his bad tongue,'' the SNDP Yogam general secretary said. Mr. Natesan said the SNDP would work in association with the Samastha Nair Samajam.

`SNDP's bad luck'

Prof. Azhikode said that it is unfortunate that the SNDP Yogam, the greatest social revolutionary movement in the State, has Mr.Natesan at its helm.

Prof. Azhikode told The Hindu on Sunday that Mr. Natesan was expected to propagate the ideals of Sree Narayana Guru. "But he is propagating Natesa Dharma than Narayana Dharma. It is SNDP's bad luck to have someone like him at the top."
