City residents have widely welcomed the renovation of the public park at Kowdiar junction. But the sponsored project costing Rs.10 lakh has exposed a gaping inadequacy.

There is no public comfort facility for the visitors. Civic officials said they had talked to the project sponsors after receiving complaints. "They have agreed to take up the construction of a toilet block comprising two or three rooms in the second phase of the renovation project. The comfort station will be set up on land adjacent to the children's park without disturbing the aesthetics or causing any inconvenience to the neighbourhood," said R. Satheeshkumar, chairman of the Corporation's standing committee on Town Planning.
