KANNUR: Canfair, an educational and entertainment exhibition being organised here by the Malabar Cancer Care Society-Kannur, as part of its 20th anniversary, is drawing crowds.

The fair has stalls of institutions like the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the Indian Railways, the Kannur Medical College and the Forest Department.

The exhibition, which got to a start at the Police Maidan here on November 21, has an amusement area as well.

The ISRO pavilion provides all information about Chandrayaan-I. Visitors to this pavilion get an idea of the country’s space programme. The display at the Kannur Medical College pavilion focuses on human anatomy. It also covers various diseases and disorders of the human body. There is an orthopaedic section. Another display area delves on snakebite management. The Vimal Jyothi College displays a tiny unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the students of mechanical engineering. A ‘wetland’ is on display at the pavilion of the Forest Department. There are photographs depicting the flora and fauna of the State.

The MCCS, a voluntary organisation involved in cancer care and control programmes, was inaugurated by Mother Teresa in 1994.
