Thiruvananthapuram: The ISRO Staff Association has called for an end to the contract system in the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The 29th annual meet of the association on Saturday called for fresh recruitment, including that of technical workers, taking into consideration new projects being taken up by the ISRO. It demanded that discrepancies in the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission’s recommendations in the ISRO be removed. The meeting elected N. Vencilas as president, K. Sreekantan Nair as working president and D. Murukan as general secretary. — Special Correspondent
