Kochi: M. Natarajan, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Chief and Scientific Adviser to the Defence Minister, said synergy of training among the three services in the wake of challenging technologies was the need of the hour.

In his presidential address at the 22nd advisory council meeting of technical training institutes of the three services — Army, Navy and the Air Force — and the Defence Research and Development Organisation at Naval Base on Tuesday, Mr. Natarajan urged the delegates to put in dedicated effort to scale up indigenisation content of defence equipment and associated systems from the present 40 per cent to 70 per cent. Extensive deliberations were also held on enhancing professional training at the institutes. Earlier, Captain V.M.
