KOCHI: The Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Association and the Khadi and Village Industries Commission are jointly organising a five-day exhibition on handmade paper and fibre industry at the Town Hall. Sebastian Paul, MP, inaugurated the exhibition.

The handmade paper and fibre industry is one of the prime industries under the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, said Khadi and Village Industries Director K. Mohanraju.

A buyer-seller meet was also organised.

The programme is intended to bring the buyers and sellers together, with a view to expanding the network. Though much of the handmade paper and articles made of fibre are exported, the industry is capable of taking up orders from local consumers. A drawing competition in handmade paper will be organised for schoolchildren on November 22.
