The facilities include wild animal rehabilitation centre, bird sanctuary, crocodile farm, trekking and boating.
The area is considered to be a continuation of the ecological hot spots in the Western Ghats.

A total of 69 rare species of plants here are facing extinction.
About 40 species of mammals have been spotted in this area and of these, three are found only here.
More than 110 species of birds and 34 species of reptiles, including the king cobra, have been identified here.
The samithi has submitted a proposal for the second phase of the project to the Tourism Department.
It envisages construction of tree huts and dormitories inside the forest at an estimated cost of Rs.30 lakh.
