KOCHI: Balagokulam is organising Krishnageeth, a competition of songs on Sree Krishna, on August 9, as part of celebrating Sree Krishnajayanthi that falls on August 23 this year.

Competitions will be held in two categories. Children in the age group of 10 to 15 years and another group between 16 to 20 years can participate in the competition that will be held at the Sita-Rama Kalyana Mandapam near the Ernakulam Siva Temple from 9.30 a.m. onwards.

Playback singer Jyothsana will inaugurate the programme.

Cash awards

Cash awards will be given to the winners in the first three spots besides mementoes to all participants.

There will be special recognition for schools and institutions that will bring in more participants.

Application forms would be available in all the schools in the city and they are also available at Indian School of Arts, Ravipuram (9447817758); Kurukshetra Prakashan, Kaloor (2338324) and Pavakulam Temple Book Store, Kaloor.
