As a tribute to his departed teacher, Jitesh drew 50 caricatures in five minutes at a show.

Cartoonist S. Jitesh, chief editor of Chiricheppu cartoon monthly magazine, paid a befitting tribute to his teacher on Sunday.

To mark the second death anniversary of Artist Vallyathan, this disciple drew 50 caricatures in five minutes at a stage show at Pandalam.

Line sketches of 50 personalities, including Mahatma Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, E.K. Nayanar, Rabindranath Tagore, V.S. Achuthanandan, L.K. Advani and O.N.V. Kurup, were drawn in the presence of renowned sculptor Kanayi Kunjiraman.

In appreciation, Mr. Kunjiraman too drew a caricature of the cartoonist prior to his keynote address.

Mr. Jitesh said he was planning to stage 1,001 such shows, titled ‘Varayarangu,’ across the State in honour of Artist Vallyathan during the next one year.

Mr. Jitesh said his mission was to popularise super speedy cartooning through stage shows in the country.
