THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Janadipatya Samrakshana Samiti leader and former Minister K.R. Gouri will receive the Nanniyodu Rajan Memorial Award for her contribution towards dairy development in the city on Saturday.

She receives the award for implementing ‘Operation Flood,’ a project that contributed to the growth of the cooperative milk sector in the State.

“Had the project not been implemented, the State would be bereft of the quality milk which it receives today,” said Kallada Ramesh, chairman Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cooperative Milk Producer’s Union, at a press conference here on Friday.

The award would be given away by Minister for Food and Civil Supplies C. Divakaran at the anniversary meeting of the Union at Panchajanyam Auditorium in Fort.
