Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers’ Association (KGMCTA) has alleged that the government’s decision to extend the service of 10 doctors who were due to retire by the end of April/May has been taken purely to serve the personal interests of a few. The government had claimed that the service of 10 doctors in selected departments across five medical colleges was being extended for two years as there were no doctors in these departments who could succeed the retiring doctors through promotion.
