THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: City Police Commissioner Ravada Chandrasekhar has assured people that the police will give top priority to solving the problems faced by women.

He was participating in a ‘Face-to-Face’ programme with women, organised by the Udarasiromani Road Residents’ Association, Vellayambalam.

Violation of traffic rules, harassment of women in buses, problems faced by residents in the vicinity of high- rise buildings under construction and indecent behaviour by autorickshaw drivers were some of the issues highlighted by the participants.

Councillor Rakhi Ravikumar and others took part in the interaction. The meeting hailed the role of the city police in crowd control and prevention of accidents during the Attukal Pongala festival.

Circle Inspector Radhakrishnan Nair highlighted the role of women in improving the service of the city police.
