THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Garib Rath Bi-Weekly Superfast Express, that was flagged off from here on Friday, offers faster rail connectivity between the State capital and Mumbai.

The fares in the Garib Rath are 40 per cent less. The AC Three Tier Sleeper Class travel from Kochuveli to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at Kurla will cost Rs. 771 and fare in the AC Chair Car is Rs. 645. The train has 11 AC Sleeper Class coaches and three Chair Car coaches. Capability to run at 130 kmph, facilities for wheel chair-borne passengers in a separate air-conditioned compartment, satellite-enabled Global Positioning System (GPS) for passengers to ascertain the next station and speed have been provided.

The 2202 Garib Rath will operate from Kochuveli on Sunday and Thursday at 8.50 a.m. to reach Lokmanya Tilak terminus at 11.45 a.m. the next day. In the return, the 2201 Garib Rath Express will commence from Lokmanya Tilak terminus at 4.55 p.m. on Monday and Friday to reach Kochuveli at 8.30 p.m. the next day. The train will have stoppages only at Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Shornur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kankanadi, Udupi, Bijoor, Ankola, Karwar, Madgaon, Karmali, Sawantwadi Road, Ratnagiri and Panvel stations.
