PALAKKAD: The four-day district conference of the Communist Party of India (CPI) began with the hoisting of the party flag by A.N. Yusuf, former MLA, at the Fort Maidan (P.K.V. Nagar) here on Sunday. The flag, flagmast and banner brought from different parts of the district were received at the function by party leaders V. Chamunni and Vijayan Kunisseri. The delegates’ session will be inaugurated by C.K. Chandrappan, MP, on Monday. — Staff Reporter
