LDF plans dharna at Kovalam on Saturday

Thiruvananthapuram: The Left Democratic Front (LDF) will organise a dharna at Kovalam on Saturday in protest against the Government's delay in taking over the Halycon Castle. Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the dharna to be attended by people's representatives, according to CPI(M) district secretary M. Vijayakumar. The CPI(M) leader said although the Government had promulgated an Ordinance for taking over the castle, it had not initiated further action. - Staff Reporter

Counter case registered

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Prassala police have registered counter cases in a fight that broke out between a section of worshippers at the CSI church in Kottamam on Sunday morning. Nearly 11 persons, including the parish priest, were injured in the incident. - Staff Reporter
