Preparations on for I-Day celebrationsKOCHI: Preparations are under way for Independence Day celebrations that will be held at the Ambedkar Stadium. A blueprint for the celebrations was prepared at a meeting convened by District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish. A parade, a band competition and patriotic songs will be part of the celebrations. Besides the police, Sea Cadets Corps, Naval NCC, Scouts and Guides and Junior Red Cross will be part of the parade, said a press release. Training for the parade will take place on August 11, 12 and 14 at the stadium. Sixteen awards will be given away to those who perform well in the parade in various sections. - Staff Reporter
