Telephone bills through post offices

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Some 524 branch post offices and 122 ED sub-offices in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts will accept payment of BSNL landline telephone bills from Tuesday. This is in addition to the post offices where this facility already exists. In case of any difficulty in tendering the bills at the above post offices, customers should contact the Divisional Superintendent concerned in Thiruvananthapuram (North), Thiruvananthapuram (South), Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvalla postal divisions. Youth stabbed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 27-year-old youth was stabbed by a group of persons at Palayam. The police identified the injured as Jinna, a resident of Manacaud. He was admitted to Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. The Museum police have registered a case in connection with the incident. - Staff Reporter

Kendriya Vidyalaya

Thiruvananthapuram: Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said here on Monday that a Kendriya Vidyalaya would start functioning on the Special Armed Police Battalion campus at Peroorkada this academic year. Addressing a meeting of senior police officials, he said directives had been issued to expedite steps to set up the school.

Killed in accident

Thiruvananthapuram: A policeman attached to the Kanjiramkulam police station died when the bike he was riding collided with a mini lorry at Alatharakkal, near Neyyattinkara, on Monday evening. He was identified as Retnaraj (45), a resident of Chengal.
