KOCHI: The Jaladhara Jala-Saksharatha Mission has demanded a high-level inquiry into the Kerala State Electricity Board flushing the Kallarkutty reservoir causing turbidity in the Periyar. Nearly 33 lakh people who depended on the Periyar for drinking water were facing hardship for the past two weeks. People of Ernakulam and nearby districts were being forced to drink contaminated water. But neither the Kerala Water Authority nor the State Pollution Control Board had taken action against the KSEB, said C.A. Vijayachandran, executive director of the Mission.
