A State-level polio awareness campaign will be held under the aegis of the Rotary International and local Rotary clubs on the occasion of World Polio Day on October 24.

Former Rotary district governor K.P. Kamaluddin said here on Tuesday that polio awareness camps would be held at different centres in the State on the occasion of World Polio Day as India was set to be officially declared polio-free on January 14, 2014.

The logo ‘End Polio Now’, created by the Rotary International in 2011 on its 107th year to commemorate its 25-year initiative to eradicate polio, was now being displayed at landmark buildings in major cities across the world. The logo would be displayed at the Chamber Hall here, railway station in Kozhikode and Kanakakunnu Palace in Thiruvananthapuram.
